about

Hypnogaga is about distance. The distance between two people. The distance between wake and sleep. The distance between here and the nearest star. How do we travel these distances, and what happens once we’ve reached our destination. What’s on the other side? What if you never make it there? In 2009, I started writing these songs in Florida, letting them gestate in the sun and the water. They were born in the cold of upstate New York. The shift, red to blue. The passion of a relationship losing its spark and fizzling out. Waking from the dream. Hypnogaga is an album about having your heart broken.

Recording this album was the first time that Draculatron felt like a proper band. We wrote and recorded together, experimenting with sounds and expanding our universe of live instrumentation. Included in this release is the original full length album, demos, non-album tracks written during the recording of Hypnogaga, and the ‘We Transform” band re-recordings of album tracks from 2013.
